Abstract

The sand sample designated Sand -I was received from the Geological Survey of India to assess its suitability for foundry moulding purposes. The Sand sample is reported to have been collected from the river bed of Manimukta at a point l-6 km. due south of Mukhasaparur Railway Station near Vridhachalam in Madras State The sand as received was Coarse to medium grained and the grains appeared to be brown in colour
