Abstract
This investigation was undertaken to assess the suitability of BTL -12 sand for foundry use. The sand sample was received from the Punjab State Industries Department, Chandigarh. The sand was collected from a source on the Jullundur Road, about 9 miles from Batala. As received, the sand was brown in colour and contained lumps and fine grains.
