Abstract
An iron ore sample from Bellary-Hospet area was received from the Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation of India Ltd., for determining the percentage of 2 ″ produced during crushing of -8 + 2 ″ ore to -3 ″ size and also to study the sintering characteristics of the fines so generated. Crushing of lumps yielded 4% by weight of -2 ″ fines which was used for sintering tests. Studies for making unfluxed as well as fluxed sinters indicated that good quality sinters could be produced from the fines obtained .
