Abstract
The sand received from the Director, Directorate of Geology and Mining, Lucknow, U.P., was investigated to study its suitability as a foundry moulding material. The sand was collected from the lower unit of Kanchanpur, location 25° 13'30":81° 38 in U.P. As received, it was medium to fine grained and whitish in colour.
