Abstract
This investigation was taken up at the instance of the Director of Geology & Mining, Madhya Pradesh, who desired a complete investigation into moulding characteristics of Jubbulpore white sand and its suitability for steel foundry practice. About 2 cwts of this sand sample were received for investigation from M/s. Onama Glass Works, Jubbulpore, owners of the quarry. As received, the sample was pale in colour. It had an initial moisture content of 2%. The sample was of fairly fine grade with a mixed grain size.
