Formulation of Electroplating salts :Part -II Dull Nickel Plating salt

Abstract

The object of this investigation is to explore the possibilities of formulating dull nickel plating salt whose performance will be as good as the best among the imported proprietary brand nickel plating salt using as far as possible indigenous raw materials. In arriving at the composition of plating salt due consideration has been given to the chemical and electro-chemical characteristics of the plating bath derived from the salt such as conductivity, catholic polarization, throwing power, current efficiency, etc. as well as to the physical and mechanical properties of the plate obtained therefrom. The composition developed ultimately has given all round satisfactory performance superior to the foreign proprietory salt.
