Abstract

A sample of zinc ash was collected from M/s. Indian Tube Company, Limited, Jamshedpur analyzed 52.8% metallic zinc and 84.9% total zinc at the time of beneficiation studies. A combination of hand picking of the +3 mesh fraction and jigging of the -3 mesh could recover 97.5% of metallic zinc, but the tailing loss of zinc present in the combined form amounted to about 35% of the total, and recovery of this zinc can be effected only by chemical methods.
