Investigation Report on the utilization of Dabok Limestone for Iron smelting

Abstract

With a view to utilize Dabok Limestone from Rajasthan for iron smelting purposes, Kamani Engineering Corporation, Bombay sponsored this investigation on the utilization of Dabok limestone for iron smelting. About 73 tonnes of limestone of -150 mm +75 mm in size were received for conducting the smelting trials. As the size of the limestone as received was too big for iron smelting in the experimental 15 tonnes/day Low-shaft Furnace Pilot Plant of the National Metallurgical Laboratory, it was crushed successively in two jaw-crushers and then screened. the sieve analysis of the limestone employed for from smelting is indicated later in this Report.
