Abstract
The sand sample was received from M/s. Bharat Heavy Electrical (India) Hardwar, Ltd., to study its suitability for foundry moulding purposes. The sand sample was collected from the Bed of Rani Rao river near the project area. The sand as received was somewhat white in colour and was coarse to fine-grained. Standard methods as specified by the American Foundrymen's Society for Testing sands were employed throughout the investigation using Dietert Sand Testing Equipments.
