Abstract

The use of non–strategic and in-expensive elements such as chromium ,silicon and aluminum warrants consideration in the development of refractory ferritic alloys as the austenitic alloys are based on expensive and strategic elements like nickel and cobalt. The properties required of high temperature resistant alloys are hot-strength and ductility upto 1150°c, adequate corrosion and heat-resistance.Furnance component items can especially be made of temperature and oxidation resistance combined with acceptable mechanical properties.
