Abstract

Necessity for the production on a large scale, of dense aggregates is briefly discussed. With uncalcined petroleum coke and two high volatile coals from Assam as the starting raw materials, influence of grain size, packing density of the carbonaceous material, binder content, fabrication pressures and heat treatment schedules, have aggregate of high bulk density, low apparent porosity (water absorption) and adequate crushing strength are examined.
