Abstract
A Sample of Gypsum assaying 36.06% SO3, 28.9% CaO, 2.95% CO2, 8.22% SiO2 and 16.33% combined water was received from Messrs. Bikaner Gypsums Ltd., Rajasthan for the production of a concentrate suitable for making Plaster of Paris. The sample was amporous in nature with Quartz, Calcite, Chlorite and Glauconitie as gangue minerals. Flotation of the sample after grinding to-150 mesh and using Oleic acid as collector and price oil as frother yielded a concentrate assaying 46.3% SO3 with a recovery of 43.4%.
