Abstract
A truck load of Noamundi soft iron ore (hematite) weighing about 47 Cwt. was received from the Superintendent, Ore Mines & Quarries, Tata Iron & Steel Company Limited, Jamshedpur. The problem is to obtain the -1” +100 mesh fraction from the above product by wet process as far as possible, to enable the Tata Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., to do some briquetting test with this fraction. It may be started in this connection that the washing plant of the Tata Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., now under erection at Noamundi, is expected to give a product -1+100 mesh during their washing operations and our problem is to obtain for briquetting tests a product in the laboratory similar to that which will be produced in their washing plant.
