Abstract

This problem is from the Aluminium Corporation of India Limited, Jaykaynagar. Cryolite, which is mechanically removed from the Aluminium Reduction Furnaces along with the Carbon dust produced by the disintegration of the electrodes is now going to the dumps. The purpose of this investigation is to find out the best method of recovering this Cryolite for reuse in the furnaces. It may be stated in this connection that all the requirements of Cryolite in India are met at present by imports.
