Abstract

Specifications for limestone for use in Cement manufacture vary, but, 80-82% total carbonates are desired generally in the kiln feed. The amount of Mg0 that could be tolerated depend on the purity of 1inestone. Limestone of 80-82% total carbonates nay have 3.5% Mg0, whereas with 90 or 95% total carbonate es, Mg0 content may be somewhat higher. Freedom from fresh silica or ch:rt is desirable and moderate amounts of sil1ica in the combined state is not considered harmful.
