Abstract

The tear "bauxite!" is loosely applied to a mixture of minerals consisting essentially of gibbsite (Al203.3Hg0), Diaspora, and boehmite (Al20a. Ho0). Any of these minerals may predominant Nate in bauxite. A large bulk of bauxite produced is used in the manufacture of aluminum metal while small quantities are consumed in other industries which include abrasives, Refractories, petroleum refining, cement making and manufacture of aluminum salts.
