Abstract
The sand sample for investigation was sponsored by the Loco Works, Southern Railway, Mysore. The deposits of this sand occur in Bannur, Cauvery river bed. The sample was yellow 1n colour and contained 4.3% moisture in the as-received condition. It was in the powder form. After drying the sample was taken up for investigation purpose.
