A Method for Estimation of Beryllium Oxide in Beryl

Abstract

This research report was undertaken at the request of the Atomic Energy Commission,Department of Scientific Research ,Government of India. Several methods are available in the literature for the analysis of beryl but they require special equipment and technique for manipulation and operation. At first we tried Fischer's Quinalizarin Method, but some difficulties were encourtered. The method, however, was not investigation further at that time. We adopted the method of estimation as oxide and we have found it to satisfactory .We have again taken up the quinalizarin method and further work is under progress for standardizing it. We could not try the fluorimetric methods for lack of proper equipments and reagents.
