Abstract
A pilot heavy media plant of 15-35 tons per hour capacity has been installed at the noamundi mines of the Tata Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., to study the possibility of upgrading the iron ores from different parts of Noanundi and Joda east mines .The samples are the first cru she d to 2" to 3" in size, scrubbed in a blade washer and wet screened to remove t he -1/3" fraCtion. The -3+1/8" fraction of the ore is treated in the heavy media separation plant.
