Abstract
An expression has been derived to estimate the volume of mixing in complex forming liquid alloys from the parameters of the modified associated solution model. The size factor is incorporated in the modified associated solution model. The parameters of the model are derived using a minimization procedure. A method is proposed also to calculate the liquidus in complex forming alloys from the parameters of the model. The Mg-Sn system has been chosen for analysis.
