Abstract
Knowledge of thermal and electrical conduction parameters is essential for the efficient designing of metallic components. Lorenz's law leads to the knowledge of thermal Conductivity indirectly by the electrical conductivity measurements. Validity of Weidman-Franz Studies s on copper - manganese al1Oy System carried out indicated the non-applicability of Wiedemann-Franz -Lorenz law. High specific resistance of these alloys coupled with very 1ow Thermal coefficient of electrical resistivity Suggests their use as a suitable material for Standard resistances.
