Abstract

Studies were undertaken at the National Metallurgical Laboratory on the applications of various diamond dressing methods for the recovery of diamonds from diamondiferous tuff and gravel samples from Panna area, Madhya Pradesh, India. The processes studies included scrubbing and washing, heavy media separation, jigging, differential grinding and grease belt treatment of gravity concentrate, electrostatic separation and flotation. Based on experimental results obtained, flowsheet have been developed for setting up commercial treatment plants for the efficient recovery of diamonds from (I) the tuff and (II) the gravity sample.
