Electric smelting of Salem magnetite briquettes in the 500 KVA Submerged Arc Furnace

Abstract

The object of this investigation was to investigate the behavior of Salem magnetite concentrate briquettes and Neyveli high temperature carbonized coke. Smelting trials were conducted in the Submerged Arc Electric Furnace Pilot Plant of the National Metallurgical Laboratory. The beneficiation of Salem magnetite has already been investigated at the National Metallurgical Laboratory and Pilot Plant of the National Metallurgical Laboratory.
