Abstract
Sintering characteristics of Noamundi washed iron ore fines alone as well as incorporating the varying amounts of blue dust therein have been studied for the production of unfluxed, as well as fluxed sinters of high basicity. Sinters of high basicity upto 3.0 -3.5 could be produced from washed ore fines .Addition of blue dust with washed ore fines even up to the extent of 50% yielded sinters with high strength and greatly improved chemistry, which indicated that the blue dust could be advantageously utilised along with the washed ore fines for the production of sinters.
