Abstract

The Investigation was taken up to study the moulding characteristics of Madras Silica sand supplied by the P.W.D. Officer, Egmore, Madras. The sand was dull whitish in colour in the as-received state with a clayey or ferruginous coating. The sand was whitish in colour in the as-received state with a clayey or ferruginous coating. The sand grains were coarse in size and were sub-rounded to sub-angular in shape.
