Abstract

Presently LD converter is being used for steel making almost in all the integrated steel plants of the world meeting about 60 % of the total global demand of steel. During last six decades considerable improvements have been made in steel making technology optimizing the process parameters. The steel made in LD converter is suitably refined in a ladle furnace for producing different grades. A typical case study of steel making in LD converter has been precisely discussed with appropriate illustrations.
