Abstract

Experiments were done on the running machine to ident-ify the best regime of ignition under Bhilai conditions. Three regimes were tried and two pallets were removed for each regime from the machine after the completion of sintering and the sinter cake subjected to strength tests. Best results were obtained when the oxygen in the combu-stion products of ignition hearth was increased by reduc-ing the gas flow rate. The machine productivity could be increased by 18.05% and - 10 mm sinter in the blast furn-ace sinter could be reduced by 8.5% (absolute).
