Abstract
Failures in the form of wall performations in the tubes of air pre-heater units located at Baroda were reported by M/s Philips Carbon Black, Durgapur. Consequent to the request to carry out failure analysis of the same at National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur, tube pieces were received by NML for analysis. The findings of the investigation are presented here.
