Abstract

Zinc is the most widely used non-ferrous metal next only to aluminium and copper. In India, about 70% of total zinc consumption is utilized for galvanizing of iron and steel. Other uses of zinc and zinc alloys are as sheets, anode casting, chemicals, fertilizers and micronutrients, paints, dry cells etc.
