Abstract

The field of Heteropoly metal oxide complexes, also known as Polyoxometalates (POMs), has been reviewed extensively under the subject of Molecular Inorganic Compounds. Their explorations in the arena of catalytic, magnetic and photochemical properties have been studied comprehensively. The present piece of work encircles two main line of thoughts regarding the application of Polyoxometalates (POMs). On one hand, POMs act as strong catalysts for some useful organic conversions and on the other hand, the self assembling or integration of Polyoxometalates into organic and polymeric matrices open a new arena of hybrid materials for the processing of the wood pulps, corrosion inhibitor, radio active waste and as sorbents material of the gases.
