Abstract
The current paper is an overview of research and development on waste based geopolymer at CSIR-National Metallurgical laboratory. The paper covers the fundamental understanding of geopolymerisation, application of new approach such as mechanical activation for tailoring of properties and synergistic use of different waste for product development. The paper also touches upon translating science into technology. Finally its impact on sustainability has been discussed.
