Abstract

In this report, the role of biomimetically systhesized minerals on the electrospinning of poly(vinyl) alcohol has been addressed. Electrospinning is a very simple and vers-atile process by which polymer nanofibers with diameters ranging from a few nanometerw to several micro meters (usually between 50 and 500 nm) can be produced using an electrostatically driven jet of polymer solution. The sur-face morphology of poly(vinyl alcohl) with silver aleovera was investigated by confocal microscopy, XRD shows pred-ominantly poly(vinyl) alcohol and FTIR shows the interact-ion. Mechanical properties of nanofibrous membrane have been discussed.
