Abstract

A1-6Fe and Al-6Mn containing 3wt% misch metal (MM) have been produced through a melt spinning technique and proc-essed to sheet/rod form. The RS ribbons and products were characterised using optical microscope, TEM and XRD and their mechanical strength determined. It has been shown that at least two distinct regions of coarse and fine structures in the RS materials exist and the structure is thermally stable upto 300°C.
