Abstract

The paper is concerned with the calculation of the inte-rnal friction observed in the first order phase transition from f.c.c. to f.c.t. by using Landau phase transition theory. For this purpose order parameter associated with the transformation is first calculated. In addition, calcu-lations of the elastic constant and the entropy change of the transformation are presented are presented and compa-red with the results of the In-Ti alloy.
