Abstract
Processing of -0.5 mm fine coking coal with a feed ash value of 30.38% was investigated. Mechanical cell flotation performance was observed to be close to but lower than the theoretical maximum performance. The inability of the mechanical cell to effectively beneficiate the ultra fines was attributed to the unsatisfactory performance in flotation.
