Abstract

Model studies have been extensively used to understand the BOS as research in the actual BOS unit is very costly. It is well known that it is not possible to develop a perfect model because in addition to geometrical similarity, dyna-mic and kinnamatic similarity criteria have to be satis-fied. Due to these difficulties most of the investigators have chosen one particular aspect of the BOS process for their research. Following the same approach the present paper reviews the model studies of BOS and their contri-bution in improving our understanding about BOS.
