Abstract
Superplasticity is the name given to a behaviour characteri-zed by very large neck-free elongations to alloys in tension tests, which can exceed 1000%. To obtain such behaviour it is necessary for the alloy to contain fine grains and to maintain them at the test temperatures, and for the alloy to have a large dependence of flow stress on the strain rate.
