Abstract

A phase stability model has been developed for martensitic phase transformation. Using a nonlinear differential equation associated with martensite transformation which is triggered by coherent phonons, stability boundaries & stability criterion are obtained. The influence of inte-rnal friction on amplitudes of phonons and the ranges of stability regions is researched. Numerical results are obtained for the alloy in TI(21 at % TI) and compared with the experimental results.
