Abstract

A reasonably good correlation between the ratio of return lines output to the return fines input and the shatter index of sinter at different degrees stabilization has been established from the data of the sintering invest-igation carried out in the laboratory. Therefore, such computation would be helpful in evaluating the strength paramater of sinter in case reliable data on the same are not avaiable. The study would be useful to assess the performance of a sintering plant as well as in under-standing the role of sinter quality in affecting the blast furnace performance.
