Abstract

Coherent phonons which start martensitic formation are the solutions of Duffing equation. By using this idea the fric-tional force was included in this undamped nonlinear equa-tion. Numerical results were obtianed for Au-Cu-Zn (30 at% Cu, 47 at % Zn) and In-Ti (21 at % Ti) Single crystals. Dependence of vibrational amplitude of the phonons on freq-uency of driving force was researched for various tempe-ratures in the austentic range. It was found that damping effects change that strongly as the martensitic transf-ormation temperature, Ms, is approached. The proposed model in this study can explain jump phenomenon in the response curves more clearly and realistically when damp-ing is included.
