Abstract
When a chemically clean ferrous surface is hot-dipped in molten alumiuium it gets coated-aluminised-by wetting, sorption and diffusion. This process-aluminising-has great potential, at least, for partial substitution of galva-nising, tinning and terne coating which involve imports of substantial quantities of zinc, tin and lead costing crores of rupees in foreign exchange.
