Abstract

Studies have been carried out on the structures of anodic oxide films formed on alumiuium and its alloys and alumi-nised mild steel by high energy cold cathode election diffraction and X-ray diffraction. It has been observed that the sealed films formed in oxalic acid, sulphuric acid and tartaric acid at and upto 50 volts DC show crys-talline Y-Al2O3 structure. The d-values of the various anodic films have been evaluated.
