Abstract

Reduction in the content of Nickel in the type 304 stainless steel has been studied in view of the potent-iokinetic active-passive behaviour of the alloys. Alloys containing both copper and manganese, substituting nickel to the extent of 55% of its normal content, showed extended passivity criteria.
