Abstract
The condition of center buffer coupler (knuckle) was evaluated as per the specifications provided by RDSO, Lucknow. The assessment was made through chemical composition, examination of microstructure, tensile, impact and hardness tests. The results indicate that all the properties of the knuckle are within the limits as specified by RDSO.
