Abstract

The paper describes the trials conducted in the Experimental Blast Furnace at Liege with hundred percent pellet burden. Experimental results with different hot blast temperatures, with and without fuel oil injection, have been presented. The minimum slag quantity necessary to assure a proper furnace operation and to ensure suff-icient desulphurization of the hot metal was also dete-rmined.
