Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of SnO2 nanoparticles from stannous chloride using sodium alginate as precursor by alginate template method is reported. As prepared SnO2 powders were characterized using XRD, TEM for their particle size and morphology. The size of nanoparticles is estimated by the amount by which the X-ray line is broadened. The as synthesized SnO2 further characterized for understanding their structure and crystalline size by employing X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern. Bonding between metal oxygen is understood by employing Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and the morphology, is understood using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
