Abstract

Third five year plan - Metallurgical and allied industries - The Third Plan acclaimed as the First Phase of a decade of intensive development considered essential for the "take off", aims at an increase of 28% in the National Income and 14% in the per capital income. The national income of Rs. 13,000 crores at the end of the current Plan is presumed to increase to Rs. 17,200 crores by 1965-66 and Rs. 22,500 crores by the end of the Fourth Plan.The annual average increase in national income in the next and Fourth Plans is set at 5.8 and 5.5 per cent, respectively, against 3.3 per cent in the current.
