Misra, D D (1989) Coal Washery Simulation a Basic Microcomputer Program. In: Third Short Term Refresher Course on Classification and Concentration, Dec. 10th - 17th December, 1989, Institute for Miners and Metal Workers Education, Balaipanda, Puri.
A number of elaborate and sophisticated programs have been developed for the simulation of coal preparation plants. However most of them are suitable for the main frame computers. This papers describes and gives the list-ing of a basic program suitable for personal computers & other microcomputer based systems. This highly simplified program is suitable for flow sheet calculations for the design of coal preparations plants as well as for teaching computer aided design (CAD) of such plants. Though the models used in this program are very much simplified and empirical in nature the results obtained are accurate eno-ugh within the limits of sampling errors normally encoun-tered in the coal preparation plants. There is provision for addition of new subroutines for unit operations not already included and for elaboration of the models used if the memory size of the computer permits.
