Abstract

The 1st stage LPCR blade of aero-engine no.8831010 got damaged. Metallurgical analysis has been carried out to find out the cause of damage. The blade is made of Ti based alloy having and + structure. SEM-EDS analysis showed that the blade was damaged due to an impact of an iron bearing metallic material.
