Abstract

A typical low and off grade fluorspar sample (59.71% CaF2 , labelled as Si) was characterised and upgraded through physical beneficiation . The sample constitutes fluorite as major phase alongwith quartz, feldspar, chert, and clay as subordinate minerals and pyrite, chal-copyrite, apatite, chalcedony, calcite as minor consti-tuents . Scrubbing and washing, heavy liquid separation, and tabling resulted in marginal enrichment of CaF2. However , a metallurgical grade concentrate was obtained through froth flotation.
